Johnson Students @ The Governor’s Mansion

Friday night, March 8th, five HJHS female students attended an event at the governor’s mansion!

Three women in politics shared their stories and then the girls broke into small groups to interview different professionals.

Like the pictures show, our students met with the governor and his wife and the chief of staff!

What an exciting Friday night! To top it off, two of the girls received emails from UC Davis announcing their acceptance while at the governor’s mansion!

Our principal, Garrett Kirkland, was their client. The students went through a research-based process identifying issues in our community through civic learning experiences.
